About this strain
A warmth-loving cousin of the oyster mushroom. The fruiting bodies grow in loose clusters, with flat caps usually 5–8 cm across and a short stem. Their colour shifts with temperature — light beige in summer, darkening to light brown on cooler days. They have a distinct, pleasant aroma and stay firm long after picking.
The mycelium colonises the substrate at an impressive pace, and the strain crops best when it is warm — a natural choice for the summer season. It can be grown on straw and sawdust, as well as on hardwood logs inoculated with plugs.
